Cartoon on Mr. Treub steering his ship safely between Scylla and Charybdis, a representation of Treub's difficult choice between the alderman's office and the professorship in Amsterdam. In the caption reference is made to his candidacy for the main board of the Maatschappij tot Nut van 't Algemeen. Published in the supplement of 'De Kroniek' of 16 February 1896.
