About this work

Oval depiction of a group at a table playing cards by the light of a single candle. In the center, a lady sits being helped by a gentleman to determine her next move. Behind her stands a man showing the woman's cards to the player opposite her using a mirror. On the right, by the table, stands a harpist. A Latin border inscription surrounds the image.
