The whole is framed with, on the left and right, a so-called caduceus, a staff entwined by two snakes, and the city arms of Delft and Bordeaux. At the top, the text: 'The board of the Dutch Limited Company French-Dutch Oil Factories Calvé-Delft has awarded the medal for [...] years of faithful service to [...]'.
