About this work
The Christ Child lies on Mary's lap. A priest sits on a stool before her and picks up a knife from a bowl held by an angel; a second angel beside him looks on. On both sides stand onlookers; on the right lie the ox and the donkey. In the sky an angel with a jug. Putti hold the instruments of the Passion. Below the image twenty lines of verse.
