About this work

The Christ child lies on Mary's lap. A priest sits on a stool before her and picks up a knife from a dish held out to him by an angel. A second angel standing beside him looks on. On both sides, spectators stand. On the right, the ox and the donkey lie down. In the sky, an angel with a jug. Putti hold the instruments of the Passion. Below the image, twenty lines of verse.
