About this work
Sorgheloos, dressed in shabby clothing, is driven out of the tavern by Aermoede, a woman who hits him on the head with tongs. Pover bites him in the shoulder (a literal representation of biting poverty). Weelde and Gemak turn their backs on him and walk ahead of him. Print five of a series of six. Ornamental frame around the scene of Sorgheloos. Inside the frame two eleven-line poems in Dutch.
