About this work

Abraham, with a knife in his hand, is about to sacrifice his son Isaac, but an angel prevents him. To the right a ram in the bushes, which will be sacrificed in Isaac's place. To the left in the landscape the donkey and servants, whom Abraham had left behind. In the margin at the bottom a reference to the Bible text and the title in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch.
