About this work
Joseph stands before Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, and explains his dreams. In the background stand the magicians and scholars of Egypt, who could not interpret the dreams. In the upper left, the dreams are depicted: the seven fat and seven lean cows. In the foreground, a dog. Below the image, a one-line explanation in Latin, Hebrew, English, German, Dutch, and French. Above it, a reference to the biblical text in Genesis 41: 15-36.
