About this work

The departure of the English queen Henrietta Maria from Scheveningen to England, 29 January 1643. On the beach a large crowd with carriages, riders and spectators, to the left in the distance the village of Scheveningen, on the beach the pink that will take the queen to her ship. On the beach the queen takes leave under saluting shots of Frederik Hendrik, prince William and Maria Stuart, queen Elisabeth of Bohemia and representatives of the States-General.
