About this work
In an inn a young man has picked up a young woman during dancing. To the left next to them sits a man playing violin. To the right by the fireplace stand several men and women who empty their stoves by the fire or are about to throw their stoves into the fire. In the background a richly set table at which three loving couples sit and behind which is danced exuberantly. Behind the window the contours of the St. Bavo Church in Haarlem.
