About this work

The personification of Equality sits on a platform before an obelisk. She holds the 'Rights of Man' under her hand, behind which a rooster with a flag emerges. Above the trinity in the form of a triangle with an eye. In the foreground supplicating kings with the severed head of Louis XVI. To the left in the background a battle and to the right four naked children around the liberty pole. Behind the hills the sun rises.
