About this work
The prophet Ahijah sits by a tree next to a ruin. Around him are fragments of the prophecy of doom he foretold to the wife of King Jeroboam. In the lower left corner, one of King Jeroboam's sons is being torn apart by dogs. In the background, another of King Jeroboam's sons is being eaten by birds of prey.
