About this work
Despair pulls Amor with a dagger in her breast towards an open grave. Fury, armed with a dagger, has appeared at the grave and holds a burning torch. In the margin a two-line inscription in Dutch. This illustration was made for the comedy "Didoos Doot" (1668), written by Andries Pels. The print is part of a four-part series with scenes from this tragedy.
