About this work
In Schoonhoven, shops of counter-remonstrants who go to church outside the town are attacked by boys and pelted with dirt, 1617. In the background, counter-remonstrants leave the town through the gate; in the foreground, an open cloth shop with an awning is being pelted with street refuse by youths. Printed on the reverse with text in Dutch. This depiction by Muller (incorrectly) interpreted as the arrest of the Remonstrant preacher D. Sapma and the riot in Hoorn, 10 March 1619.
