About this work

Abraham sits at the table with his wife Sarah; on the left stands Hagar with a serving tray. Sarah angrily strikes at Abraham's firstborn son Ishmael, who has run in fear to his mother Hagar. Isaac, Sarah's youngest son, sits crying against his mother's leg. The print is part of a seven-part series with scenes from the biblical book of Genesis.
