Portrait of a man with (probably) a partisan (pole weapon) in his right hand. Previously also identified as Jan Dircksz. Schatter, captain in Haarlem. To the right on a tree stump a small shield with a flower on it and the motto 'Hodie: Cras nihil' underneath. In the background a battle.
