About this work

A standing woman holding a cup of rice wine (sake). With one poem. Left leaf of a five-panel screen, depicting standing or seated figures under cherry blossoms and against a curtain with the emblem of the Nogawa Poets' Society along the bottom. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, people still picnic under the trees in Japan today. This is often accompanied by music and drink.
