About this work
The poet Kakinomoto no Hitomaro, a fan in hand, sitting on a balcony, looking out over the sea. His work is included in, among others, the Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves (Manyôshû), from the 8th century, and in Hundred Poems by Hundred Poets (Hyakunin isshu) from 1235. With two poems.
