About this work

Night scene, with the actor Onoe Kikugorô III (1784-1849) in the role of Soga no Jûrô Sukenari, in the rain with a sword in his hand. This scene is from the play Soga nakamura, performed in the Nakamura theater in Edo in 1825. With one poem. Left panel of a triptych.
