About this work

The pilgrim Banryû, played by the actor Ichikawa Ebizô V (1791-1859), at night, with a sword in his hands to ward off an attack from Oyana (left panel). A scene from the play Tanomiaru gohiiki no Tsuna, performed in the Kawarazaki theater in 1832. Right panel of a diptych. With two poems.
