About this work

A man with a court hat, two swords, and a wrapped parasol over his shoulder. Depicted is actor Matsumoto Kôshirô V (1764-1838) in the role of Matsuômaru in the kabuki play Sugawara denjû tenarai kagami, about the history of the Sugawara family. Accompanied by two poems.
