About this work

Two travelling players. The man dances with a fan before his face, the woman, seen from behind, plays the shamisen. With four haiku poems. The style in which this print is executed suggests a much earlier period in Japanese art history. It is possible that the artist made this print after an older work from his collection, something he did quite often.
