About this work
A monkey with basket and fishing rod, riding on a long-haired turtle (minogame). With two poems. This image probably refers to the fairy tale about the Dragon Palace, in which a jellyfish, and later a turtle, attempts to lure a monkey to the palace of the Dragon King. The king's daughter was sick and could only be cured with the liver of a living monkey. When the monkey discovers this, he convinces the jellyfish that monkeys have five livers, which they hang in trees so they can move faster. And of course the monkey is more than willing to return for one of his livers...
