About this work
In the foreground Isaac, riding on a dromedary. In his right hand a cross with a banner. On the banner two shackles as a sign of his voluntary patience. He pulls a cart with attributes of his patience: the ram that was sacrificed in his place, the sword of Abraham and the sacrificial fire. In the background the sacrifice of Isaac. The print has a Latin text of six lines on a separate piece of paper and is part of an eight-part series on the Triumph of Patience.
