About this work

After a first selection there are still too many men, and God advises Gideon to take the remaining men to the river. Three hundred men lap the water with their tongues and the others kneel to drink. God told Gideon that Israel would be liberated with the help of the three hundred men who lapped the water. In the margin a one-line inscription in Latin.
