About this work

Between two rocaille cartouches, a putto lies with a skull and objects symbolizing earthly life, such as a vase, a globe, lances, and a crown. In the landscape behind him stands a pyramid-shaped monument with an oval medallion containing a face. In the lower margin two columns with two-line German text. Publisher's number VII.
