About this work
Three soldiers enjoy their rest in the company of three women. They smoke, drink, and walk. On the right, two drummers stand. In the background, a defensive work with a cannon and a view through an enclosure to the water. At the bottom of the scene, a rocaille frame. Two columns with a two-line German text appear in the lower margin.
