About this work

Moses and Aaron ask the pharaoh, sitting on his throne, to let the people of Israel go to celebrate in the desert. Pharaoh refuses to let the people go. In the center bottom, a reference to the Biblical text in Exodus 5:4. The scene is framed in an ornamental border with leafy vines and a mask.
