About this work

Allegorical representation with the kneeling Louis XIV placing his crown under divine protection. To the left he is handed an olive branch by Mary with child. The Christ child is handed the holy ampulla by God the Father and the Holy Spirit to the left. Through a window to the right the battle of Arras can be seen. The scene is framed by an ornamental border with garlands and various symbols of war and peace.
