About this work
A Roman in a toga and laurel wreath, an expert in the arts, judges everyone who wishes to be an artist, as not everyone is suitable to follow the Roman example. A man, dressed in the fashion of Louis XIV, has humbly removed his hat. Through a curtain, a Bacchus figure descends, surrounded by men with torches. Below the image, four lines of text in Latin. The print is part of an album.
