About this work

Interior with Mary Magdalene, at a dressing table. Weeping she takes off her jewelry, with which she bids farewell to her luxurious (sinful) life. To the rear right the penitent Mary Magdalene, kneeling before a crucifix at a cave. In the margin a three-line inscription in Latin.
