About this work

The marriage trap, allegory on marriage. Couples walk arm in arm into a large trap or net accompanied by music from a small orchestra. On top of the trap sits Cupido. Putti dance around a bride and groom with flower basket. Around the trap walk men and women, they make all kinds of erotic allusions. To the right Death swings with a hatchet.
