About this work

Hercules, on the left with the lion's skin over his arm, fights with the centaurs. Here he killed Eurytion, who was to marry a girl who had previously been Hercules' beloved. The wedding feast turns into a battle. Jugs and sacks of wine spill out. Print is part of a series of prints that together represent the painted ceiling with the Apotheosis of Hercules in the Hôtel Lambert in Paris. This print is part of an album.
