About this work

Round depiction in which Pope Pius V on 20 May 1571 concludes an alliance with the Spanish King Philip II and the Venetian Doge Alvise I Mocenigo to act together against the Turks. In the background the personifications of Constancy, Faith and Prudence. In the foreground a dragon (the Turks) between three pots with coins. Border inscription in Latin. Below the print pasted a piece of text with details of the alliance, in Dutch.
