Portrait of Mary I, Queen of Scotland, in an oval frame crowned with her coat of arms. On either side an allegorical female figure. She is laureled by two angels flying in the sky. At the very bottom two scenes of her beheading. In the margin a twenty-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
