About this work

The Seven Japanese Gods of Fortune, looking unhappy, on board their ship (takarabune, a New Year symbol), with a poem on either side referring to seasickness; from the waves climbs a mythological long-haired turtle (minogame) on board; top left a rising sun and a crane, which like the minogame are symbols for a long life.
