About this work
God the Father, in the form of the tetragram surrounded by a halo of rays and cherubim, appears in the sky at the Tower of Babel. He causes a confusion of tongues, so that people can no longer understand each other. The people around the tower flee in all directions. Some of them flee on an elephant and on camels. In the foreground, Nimrod and other men look on in alarm. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Gen. 11:7. This print is part of an album.
