About this work
Christ gives the order at the wedding in Cana to fill jars with water. The bride and groom and the guests are seated at the table. Mary sits at the back of the table on the left. To the left in the background, the master of ceremonies tastes the water that has been turned into wine. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in John 2:1.
