About this work
The basin contains a pedestal upon which Justice sits before a trophy of arms with chained prisoners or enslaved men on both sides. Above her hangs the coat of arms of the House of Bourbon, and at the very top stands a statue of the young Louis XIV, dressed as a Roman emperor. Leaf 109 from part III of a series consisting of 226 leaves, divided into four books, each with its own title page.
