About this work

Zimri, a leader of the Israelites, takes Kozbi, a Midianite woman, to his tent (Numbers 25: 6-8). Because she was from another people, this is a violation of the Sixth Commandment: "Thou shalt not commit adultery." In the background, their punishment: both are killed by Aaron's grandson. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
