About this work
Christ praying in agony in the garden of Gethsemane. An angel presents him the cross and a chalice. Peter, James and John lie sleeping in the foreground. On the right Judas appears with a group of soldiers. In the lower margin a verse in Latin. Print from a series on the Seven Bleedings of Christ. During the prayer in Gethsemane his sweat fell as drops of blood on the ground.
