About this work

The Israelites Worship the Statue of the Golden Calf (Exodus 32). This Is a Violation of the First Commandment: "You Shall Not Worship Idols, But Worship Me Only." In the Background Moses Breaks the Stone Tablets with the Ten Commandments and the Levites Kill Three Thousand Israelites on Moses' Command. The Print Bears a Latin Inscription. The Print Series Depicts the Ten Commandments by Means of Scenes from the Old Testament.
