Vineyard of Naboth: the Tenth Commandment

King Ahab of Samaria asks Naboth for the price of his vineyard. Naboth, however, does not wish to sell his property. Ahab then attempts to acquire the vineyard by having Naboth stoned. (1 Kings 21:1-29). In the background, the prophet Elijah tells Ahab that he will be punished by God because he is in violation of the tenth Commandment: "Thou shalt not covet anything that is your neighbor's". The offspring of Ahab will die wherever Naboth died and be devoured by dogs. The print has a Latin inscription. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
