About this work
In the center stands a personification of the Netherlands with a sword and a helmet with seventeen arrows (the Seventeen Provinces) on her head. Behind her lies the Dutch lion. To her right sits a woman with a cornucopia. To her left three personifications. At the bottom sit personifications of the rivers Scheldt, Meuse, and Rhine. On the right in the background Mercury flies.
