About this work

In the center stands a personification of the Netherlands with a sword and a helmet with seventeen arrows (the Seventeen Provinces) on her head. Behind her lies the Dutch lion. To her left sits a woman with cornucopia. To her right three personifications. At the bottom sit personifications of the rivers Scheldt, Meuse and Rhine. In the left background Mercury flies.
