About this work
The personification of Rome sits with trophies of arms and a statue of Victoria in her hand on a pedestal. To the left stands Hercules with club and lion's skin. To the right sits Fortuna with the cornucopia. Next to her imperial busts. In the foreground putti sit with portrait medallions of emperors. In the background buildings including a gate with the head of Janus.
