About this work

On a cloud sits a personification of the printing press with a printing press. She is flanked by Minerva with shield, helmet and owl and Mercury with caduceus. Below them are personifications of Germany, Holland, England, Italy and France. They carry portraits of persons who were important for the printing press. In the lower margin a three-line French text.
