About this work

Printer's mark for the Plantijn-Moretus printing house in Antwerp. In the center, a hand with a compass, a reference to the signboard 'The Golden Compass'. Around the oval image, the motto: Labore et Constantia. Next to it, the personifications of Labor and Constancy, with a spade and a crucifix.
