About this work
In a rocaille ornament with grape clusters and vines stands Bacchus with a wreath of grapevines, a thyrsus, a goblet, and a lion's skin. To his left a woman with a wreath of grapevines pours wine into a goblet. To the right stands an old man with a candle. Before the trio runs Cupido. To the right Venus looks at the whole scene with helmet and caduceus. In her lap lies a young man. In the lower margin two columns with a three-line German text. Print number 346, publisher's number 74.
