About this work
Cain kills his brother Abel with the jawbone of a donkey. In the background two altars are visible. Cain's offering is rejected, the smoke goes down. Abel's offering is accepted by God. In the background God appears as a beam of light from heaven to Cain. At the bottom a reference to the Biblical text in Gen. 4:8 in Latin. This print is part of an album.
